Principal's Corner

Dear Students, Parents, Guardians, Faculty and Staff, 

Welcome to Kaiserslautern Elementary School. Our school is an outstanding school for students to grow and prosper in a safe and nurturing environment. We are committed to the academic development of each child in our school. I am pleased to serve you and your child as principal this year, along with Ms. Peden, our assistant principal, and our amazing team of educators and support staff. Every staff member is part of the school team focused on our own professional growth to support the diverse needs of learners in the 21st century. We will focus our learning within our 21st-century school facility.  

KES offers a rigorous, standards-based curriculum in the core subjects of science, math, language arts, and social studies. DoDEA adopted the College and Career Ready Standards for math, science, social studies, health, and literacy. The core curriculum is complemented by art, music, introductory German language and culture, and PE for all students. Our goal is to ensure that all students succeed at KES, and are prepared for their next level of education, resiliently and academically.  

Central to all we do this year will be the focus on being kind, helpful, and supportive of each other. Please help us by reinforcing these expectations at home. With your help, KES will continue to be a school community where everyone feels respected and valued. We will also encourage and challenge them to achieve at the highest levels.  

Ms. Peden and I are committed to fostering a culture of respect, inclusivity, and diversity.  We will promote an atmosphere where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to express themselves.  Throughout the academic year, we will provide ample opportunities for student growth through engaging educational programs, exciting extracurricular activities, and meaningful community involvement. 

I am an open-door Principal, and I invite all of you to share your ideas, concerns, and suggestions.  Together, we will work hand in hand to make KES an exemplary 21st-century school that sets high standards for education and character.
